The Vision of NHPC

NHPC-about usAs a family church that does community outreach, to make disciples of youth in the community through the simplified ministry structure of “Worship, Connect, Serve.”

Worship of God is to be a way of life engaged on a regular basis. Worship services will be blended in terms of the worship music style.

Connecting together is to be done through Connect Groups of which there are two ways
– Adult Connect groups as defined as 6 to 12 people who gather outside the time of worship to build strong relationships with each other and the youth of the community and by extension, their families through Bible study, fellowship, and service
– Youth Groups as defined under the current structure of a Bible Bunch Connect Group, and a Junior and Senior High Connect Group. These groups are varying sized based on reaching as many of the youth in the community as possible.

Serving together encompasses both involvement in the life of the church utilizing spiritual gifts, and moving beyond the walls to meet needs and build relationships with touch and by extension, their families at the Allegheny Family Network.

Connecting
– Excellent communication with the congregation in all aspects of church life (connecting)
– Connect groups as the chief means of growing in Christian knowledge (Christian Education), deepening relationships (fellowship), and reaching out to youth in the community (and by extension their families). For the serving aspect of connecting, see below. For the two types on connect groups see above.

Serving

Loaf of Bread Ministry-about usA team spirit of serving in the church where all members discover and utilize their gifts and are considered ministers, utilizing the connect groups as chief means of serving. Here at NHPC, we recognize that we have not just been blessed to keep it to ourselves, but more-so, blessed to serve others out of what God has done in our lives.

Serving is defined in two sectors

  • The Work in the Church which includes the activities necessary to operate the church
  • Great Commission Serving focused on going beyond the walls of NHPC to reach youth at the Allegheny Family Network coming alongside the global outreach efforts of the EPC
In support of The Work of The Church and Great Commission serving, NHPC places high value on well-designed leadership structure in which leaders within the simplified ministry structure communicate with each other and with the session on a regular basis.
